VLD Week 2

I went away from the shop that afternoon. It was like usual, just another busy Saturday. I slipped away from the shop with Uncle Leon. I had to carry his luggage since he lost his leg and can’t carry it himself. We took a long time getting to the bus stop. It was planning out well when suddenly I met a bully from my school called Robin.

“Hey Kieffer, what are you doing in this busy street? Trying to runaway?”

I had to think fast so that Robin doesn’t know what we’re going to do.

“Hey Robin,” I said trying to act friendly. “I was just accompanying him to get to an NEZ. He can’t carry his own luggage, so I’m helping him.”

“Oh, okay. Whatever dude. Just don’t try to cause trouble. I’m on your tails.”

“Will do,” I replied as I quickly poked at Uncle Leon to go as he was talking to one of his friends.

We walked again and Uncle Leon sprung a question.

“Who was that kid?

“No one, just a friend asking what I’m doing. I had to lie though so that we wouldn’t get found out.”

“Okay…”

After hours walking to the bus station, we finally reached it. The first thing Uncle Leon did after getting on the bus was go to sleep. He was tired, but he never complained about a single thing. He was a tough guy. I can’t sleep. I was spending too much time worrying about what Robin would do. He saw me just now and he might immediately call the authorities if they found us missing and not only that his father has connections to the government.

I found myself fast asleep during the trip after some time and the next thing I knew was that Uncle Leon was trying to wake me up.

“Hey! Wake up! We’re here already!”

“What? We’ve arrived?”

“Yes, let’s get down from the bus and go to the meeting place.”

We went down the bus and started walking again to the bus station. There, we saw my sister Cassey and Sun Ni my grandmother who are unpacking things. They are sitting on a table. Moments later another bus came, where my father, mother, and little sister Canney came down from. We were finally at Rach Gia. My father set out to find some small lodging houses that we could stay in and rest. He said the next day we would go find information about grandfather.

Project #3 - Bible Story

- I chose the story because I recently heard it from my church. Then, it got me interested and I started writing the story about Jonah and the big fish. I decided to keep it short and simple but very detailed by only writing out the important parts so that my story doesn't repeat too many things in it.

-The most difficult part of making the story is to keep it short and simple. I had to re-read the bible so that I can figure out which are the parts of the story that are most important because if I wrote everything from the bible it will be too much and readers will get bored.

-I enjoyed typing and sharing ideas with my friends. I like typing very much and did this since I was little and I also like to share my ideas with my friends so that they can tell me the mistakes that I made and can help me fix them.

Project #1 - Adventure Advertisement

1. The purpose of my ad is to attract customers to sign up for Razer Tours. I want to attract customers that are outgoing, nice to each other, and can be cooperative so that the tour can proceed well and end successfully.

2. The two best language features in my advertisement are my slogan and my image. My slogan, "Everyday is and adventure!" is pretty unique in its own way because it tells people that normal people can experience exciting activities everyday if they want to. The large image of people rafting together in a river is an example of the adventure they are going to experience if they join the tour and shows that anyone who wants to can have fun.
